When we wake up in the morning, we pray together and in the evening again

Mariane Nimugire, member of the Presbyterian Church in Rwanda, tells us about his family, his studies and his Church in this time of lock down caused by covid 19. Find his testimony here.

Beloved in Jesus Christ,

I hope that you are safe and protected well.

I am happy to get this opportunity for talking about my situation in this time seems like difficulty to everyone, because of the epidemic of Corona Virus or Covid 19 affected the whole World.

First of all, thanks to Cevaa for my scholarship.  My study is still there even if it is impossible to attend class because the schools were closed but I continue to work on the assignments and Seminar Paper. The challenge is to find the internet and Library house easily in staying home but I arranging myself on Telephone.

For the life of my family, my husband continued to have the chance for getting his salary, while it is not enough basing on family expenses. So, we manage it well. For me, it is not easy to get full salary in this time of lock down, as you know that the salary of pastors in Presbyterian Church come from offerings and tithes of Christians.  When we wake up in the morning, we pray together and evening again.

In this pandemic, all parishes of Presbyterian Church in Rwanda are closed and to know the safety of Christian’ members is impossible in rural areas because of lock down. Unfortunately, Pastors have not possibility and way of making pastoral care and counseling as their calling is. Although in rural areas, the farmers continued to make their activities, in urban areas, all people are staying at home and where big numbers are so hungry. Today, Church does not fold one’s arms, it continues to search the ways of feeding Pastors and other persons who are hungry.

My objectives are to continue to pray for the World, especially Cevaa for its commitment to the church members and who are hungry in staying home and also to make advocacy as possible. I believe that after Covid 19, I will teach them to create the small projects in order to increase Christian’s development, as I have some knowledge about it. In additional, I continue to work on my assignments and Seminar Papers by using internet where I am downloading the books online.

My wish is only to pray for me in order to accomplish my study.

May God bless you!
