Ghana : l'Église presbytérienne évangélique valorise la place des enfants dans la société

Pour lui, les enfants constituent des dons précieux de Dieu pour les parents, l'Église et la société. Il exhorte les Ghanéens et les Ghanéennes à reconnaître leur potentiel ainsi que le rôle essentiel qu'ils jouent dans les communautés.

« La société doit nourrir la curiosité des enfants, inspirer leurs rêves, et inculquer des valeurs humaines et spirituelles afin de préparer l’avenir du pays et des Églises. Chérissons et élevons nos enfants, guidons-les dans leur cheminement spirituel et aidons-les à grandir dans la foi et l’amour », a-t-il déclaré.

Profitant de sa prise de parole, le modérateur a également rappelé aux parents et aux responsables de l'Église l'importance d’enseigner aux enfants la propreté environnementale et l'hygiène de vie, soulignant que ces valeurs contribueraient à créer une société exempte de déchets.

Cette volonté affirmée se concrétise sur le terrain. Au cours du mois de mars, l'Église presbytérienne évangélique du Ghana, soutenue financièrement par la Bremen Mission, a inauguré un nouveau bâtiment, le « Bremen Block », à l’école de base de Kpong.

Ce bâtiment, composé de trois salles de classe sur un étage, marque une étape importante dans la quête de la communauté pour une éducation de qualité. Pour Mme Eugenia Boafo, directrice de l’école, ce projet, commencé il y a un an, a transformé l’environnement d’apprentissage des élèves et du personnel, en offrant des salles de classe modernes et un nouvel espoir d’excellence académique.

Comme un phare, le Bremen Block montre le chemin : un chemin qui éduque et nourrit la curiosité des enfants.

Ghana: The Evangelical Presbyterian Church promotes the place of children in society

Reverend Bliss Divine Agbeko, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana, calls on civil society to create an environment where children feel valued, loved and supported.

For him, children are precious gifts from God to parents, the Church and society. He urges Ghanaians to recognise their potential and the vital role they play in communities.

“Society must nurture children’s curiosity, inspire their dreams, and instil human and spiritual values in order to prepare for the future of the country and the churches. Let us cherish and raise our children, guide them on their spiritual journey, and help them grow in faith and love,” he said.

Taking the opportunity to address the gathering, the Moderator also reminded parents and church leaders of the importance of teaching children about environmental cleanliness and healthy living, emphasising that these values would help create a waste-free society.

This stated commitment is being put into practice on the ground. During March, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana, with financial support from the Bremen Mission, inaugurated a new building, the ‘Bremen Block’, at Kpong Primary School.

This building, comprising three classrooms on a single floor, marks a significant milestone in the community’s quest for quality education. For Ms Eugenia Boafo, the school’s headteacher, this project, which began a year ago, has transformed the learning environment for pupils and staff alike, providing modern classrooms and a renewed sense of hope for academic excellence.

Like a beacon, the Bremen Block shows the way: a path that educates and nurtures the children’s curiosity.
