Cameroun : L'UPAC valide de nouveaux textes pour renforcer son cadre institutionnel.
Cette rencontre marque une étape importante dans la vie institutionnelle de l’université, avec la validation de nouveaux textes qui viennent renforcer son cadre juridique et organisationnel.
Lors de son intervention, le secrétaire exécutif a salué la dynamique de réforme engagée par l’UPAC et a réaffirmé l’engagement de la Cevaa dans son soutien aux initiatives de formation, de recherche et d’innovation pédagogique. Il a souligné que la mission des Églises passe par des institutions solides, capables de former des responsables ancrés dans leur contexte et ouverts aux réalités interculturelles.
En dotant l’université d’un cadre juridique conforme aux exigences nationales, le conseil d’administration ouvre la voie à une meilleure intégration de l’UPAC dans le système d’enseignement supérieur du Cameroun, renforçant ainsi sa reconnaissance officielle par l’État.
Colloque 2027 des facultés
Dans la continuité de cette dynamique institutionnelle, le secrétaire exécutif a annoncé la tenue, en mars 2027 à l’UPAC, du Colloque Cevaa des facultés de théologie sur le thème : « Enjeux contemporains de la formation théologique : regards croisés ». Ce rendez-vous réunira des facultés partenaires d’Afrique et d’Europe pour approfondir la réflexion sur l’avenir de la formation théologique.
Clôture de l’année académique
Le Conseil d’Administration s’est achevé par la cérémonie de clôture de l’année académique 2025‑2026, ponctuée par la remise solennelle des diplômes aux étudiants. Ce moment festif et institutionnel a mis en lumière la mission de l’UPAC : former des responsables compétents, reconnus par l’État et porteurs d’une vision théologique ouverte et interculturelle.
Cameroon: UPAC approves new regulations to strengthen its institutional framework.
Pastor Omer Gb. Dagan, Executive Secretary in charge of the CEVAA’s Youth and Activities Division, has just taken part in the proceedings of the Board of Governors of the Protestant University of Central Africa (UPAC), which met in Yaoundé on 29 and 30 July 2026. This meeting marks an important milestone in the university’s institutional life, with the approval of new regulations designed to strengthen its legal and organisational framework.
In his address, the Executive Secretary commended the reform drive undertaken by UPAC and reaffirmed CEVAA’s commitment to supporting initiatives in training, research and educational innovation. He emphasised that the mission of the Churches depends on strong institutions capable of training leaders who are rooted in their local context and open to intercultural realities.
By providing the university with a legal framework that complies with national requirements, the Board of Governors is paving the way for UPAC’s better integration into Cameroon’s higher education system, thereby strengthening its official recognition by the State.
2027 Theological Faculties Symposium
In line with this institutional momentum, the Executive Secretary announced that the CEVAA Symposium for theological faculties would be held in March 2027 at UPAC, on the theme: ‘Contemporary challenges in theological education: a comparative perspective’. This event will bring together partner faculties from Africa and Europe to further explore the future of theological education.
Closing of the academic year
The Board of Governors’ meeting concluded with the closing ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year, highlighted by the formal presentation of degrees to the students. This festive and institutional occasion highlighted UPAC’s mission: to train competent leaders, recognised by the State and embodying an open and intercultural theological vision.
